If you are missing an entire row of teeth, also called a dental arch, you already know that this situation can have an impact on your appearance. In particular, an entire set of lost teeth can cause your face to take on a sunken appearance and make you look older than you really are. An incomplete smile can make eating a difficult chore and can make it harder for you to speak clearly.
It is obviously important to replace those teeth, but what is best? Dentures have been used for many years, but they can become loose or displaced while you eat. Dental implants are a great solution for missing teeth, but not everyone is comfortable with the amount of surgery need to replace that many teeth, and implants can be expensive. Our dentist and team have a solution: implant-supported dentures.
First, four to six dental implants will be placed in your jaw. These are titanium posts or screws with abutments on them that hold the dentures in place. You will need time to heal after the placement surgery, and when you are ready, the denture will be attached to them. If you already wear dentures, you may want to see if they can be retrofitted for the implants. You can enjoy a full and stable smile once again.
